Although Sanyu Tang has not yet launched any floral tea products, we actively follow tea-related topics and enjoy sharing useful information with everyone.
When blended professionally, flowers and tea can produce unique flavors and aromas. In Taiwan, most floral ingredients used in tea are imported, yet floral teas are among the products less frequently tested for safety.
According to Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration, tea leaves must comply with pesticide residue standards for tea, while flowers must meet the standards for edible flowers. Therefore, pesticide testing for floral tea must meet both standards individually.
It is not acceptable to average the limits (e.g., (flower + tea) ÷ 2), nor is it valid to pass based on just one component meeting the standard.
