Oriental Beauty Tea

Price range: NT$500 through NT$1,200

Oriental Beauty Tea, also known as Pengfeng Tea, Baihao Oolong Tea, Champagne Oolong, etc., is made from the most delicate part of the tea trees (one leaf and two leaves of the top of tea tree) and also need to be bitten by the small green leafhopper. Meanwhile, the tea leaves can only be picked by hand. The output of Oriental Beauty Tea is scarce and precious.  It is famous for its special honey sweet flavor and ripe fruit aroma. The quality of Oriental Beauty Tea is determined by the degree of insect pests. The higher degree of insect pests, the more honey aroma of tea will go stronger. The name of tea “Oriental Beauty” comes from a beautiful legend that after Queen Victoria of England tasted the tea, she praised and named it one hundred years ago

Sanyutang’s Oriental Beauty Tea is exclusively provided by two young tea farmers in Lugu Township, Nantou County. Only when the quality of tea leaves reaches a certain level of bittenning by small green leafhopper will it be picked and carefully made. The annual output is very scarce. The tea is bright golden in color with a mellow and honey sweet taste. Even after multiple brewing, the unique honey aroma of Oriental Beauty Tea still exists in the tea.
